To be more specific, she starts out the song mentioning a time when someone gave her advice about love: 'Someone told me I should take/caution when it comes to love' But because of several factors - 'you were strong and I was not. I was careless, I forgot' - she didn't take caution and jumped into a relationship despite warning signs about the guy. 
Now she is speaking after the end of a tumultuous relationship - 'Tell them I was happy/and my heart is broken' - and this is when she feels vulnerable and weak - 'All my scars are open', 'And if you're done with embarrassing me.' Because she feels foolish for ever loving a guy who treated her so badly.
